Decimail Server is a mail server supporting IMAP
and SMTP that uses a PostgreSQL database to store
messages. Mailboxes are defined using SQL queries,
allowing complex client-independent automatic
message filtering and categorisation. For example
you can partition your messages chronologically,
by correspondent, and by mailing list at the same
time, with each message appearing in several
mailboxes. You can also use PostgreSQL's text indexing
extension for fast keyword searching. Decimail also features anti-spam processing of outgoing messages.

QMail Installation is a small and very practical
script that makes it easy to install qmail and
other related tools, such as vpopmail,
qmailadmin, spamassassin, F-prot, and qmailmrtg.

Postfix Admin is a Web-based management tool for
Postfix. It handles Postfix-style virtual domains
and users that are stored in MySQL or PostgreSQL. It has support for over 20 languages. It was initially released in December of 2002.

Swift is a library for sending email messages from
PHP Web sites and
applications. It does not rely on PHP's native
mail() function (which
is known for using high server resources when
sending multiple email
messages). Instead, it communicates directly with
an SMTP server or an
MTA binary to send mail quickly and efficiently.
It features custom
headers, multiple encoding options, TLS support,
embedded images,
building and sending multipart messages, fast Cc
and Bcc handling,
batching messages with or without multiple "To"s,
support for multiple
attachments, setting message priorities,
requesting read receipts,
pluggable SMTP Authentication (LOGIN, PLAIN,
MD5-CRAM, POP Before SMTP),
anti-flooding support (reconnect every X email
messages ), secure Socket
Layer connections (SSL), and loadable plugin
support with event handling
features.

Masqmail is an MTA (mail transport agent) for notebooks, workstations, home servers, and generally any host with no permanent network connection. It has special support for multiple transfer routes (e.g. to different mail providers). Address rewriting can be done in several ways. It is a slim replacement for full-blown MTAs such as sendmail, exim, qmail, or postfix and for the intended uses, configuration is much simpler.

pushmail aims to be the opposite of fetchmail. It can be used to push email messages to an SMTP server without the need of configuring the local MTA.

Nullmailer is a sendmail/qmail/etc replacement MTA for hosts which relay to a fixed set of smart relays. It is designed to be simple to configure, secure, and easily extendable.

DJIGZO Email Encryption Gateway is a centrally managed email server that encrypts and decrypts incoming and outgoing email at the gateway level. Djigzo currently supports two encryption standards: S/MIME and PDF encryption. The built-in Data Leak Prevention (DLP) module can be used to prevent certain information from leaving the organization via email. DLP can be configured to filter on credit card numbers, bank account numbers, excessive amounts of email addresses or other personal information in one email message, and more. DJIGZO can be installed on most Linux and Unix based systems. Installation packages are available for Ubuntu, Debian, Red Hat and CentOS. A ready to run virtual appliance for VMware and Hyper-V is available. An add-on for BlackBerry is available.

Net_NNTP is a PHP/PEAR library for communication with NNTP servers. Net_NNTP handles connection and protocol-level commands (RFC977), including many non-standard commands (RFC2980), via a user-friendly API which hides the actual NNTP commands/syntax. Some knowledge about NNTP and general knowledge about email and MIME is required, since parsing of content and headers is left up to the user. Net_NNTP allows advanced users direct usage of NNTP commands via the separate protocol implementation. Net_NNTP includes a fully-functional NNTP to HTML gateway demo application.

Hotwayd is a POP3/SMTP to HTTPMail (WebDAV) gateway. HTTPMail is a somewhat undocumented WebDAV-based protocol used by a variety of mail servers including Hotmail, MSN, Lycos, and Spray. Hotwayd allows you to use any standard POP3/SMTP mail reader to send and receive mail via these servers, similar to the way that Outlook Express can access a hotmail account. It supports features such as folder selection to get folders other than the inbox and proxy server support (if you require a proxy to access the internet).

The deepOfix Mail Server makes it possible for
organizations with minimal technical expertise to
have robust server infrastructure. deepOfix offers
unprecented ease of use, doesn't require prior
GNU/Linux experience and is backed by a full-time
development and support team. deepOfix features
LDAP-based directory services for user account
management, email delivery, distribution lists,
and addressbooks. It also includes built in tools
for spam and virus control, webmail, and fetching
email.

spmfilter is a mail filtering framework. It attempts to be a general
filtering framework for any purpose. The API enables spmfilter plugins
to access messages as they are being processed by the MTA. This allows
them to examine and modify message content and meta-information during
the SMTP transaction. Plugins are loaded at runtime and can be processed
in any sequence. The processing chain can also be altered by a single
plugin, for example if the plugin has to stop further processing.

Vacation is a Horde module for managing user email "vacation notices" or "auto-responders." It works via a local vacation program and the .forward style forwarding mechanism supported by several popular mailers. Currently, it provides fairly complete support for managing .forward style vacation notices on Sendmail or Courier mail based systems via an FTP transport. It also has some support for LDAP, Qmail, and Exim SQL based servers.
