Vaadin is a Web application framework for Rich Internet Applications (RIA). Barman (backup and recovery manager) for PostgreSQL is an administration tool for disaster recovery of PostgreSQL servers. It allows remote backups of multiple servers in business-critical environments and helps DBAs during the recovery phase. Barman's most-wanted features include backup catalogs, retention policies, remote recovery, archiving, and compression of WAL files and backups.

CUPS-PDF is a PDF writer backend for CUPS. It is
designed to produce PDF files in a heterogeneous
network by providing a PDF printer on the central
fileserver. It will convert files printed to its
queue in CUPS to PDF and put them in a
per-user-based directory structure. It can execute
post-processing scripts, e.g. to allow mailing the
results to the user.

DarkIce is a live audio streamer. It records audio
from an audio interface (e.g. a sound card),
encodes it, and sends it to a streaming server.
DarkIce can record from OSS audio devices, ALSA
audio devices, Solaris audio interfaces, and Jack
sources. DarkIce can encode into MP3, MP2, Ogg
Vorbis, and AAC formats, and can send the encoded
stream to ShoutCast, IceCast 1.3.x and 2.x, and
the Darwin Streaming Server.

collectd is a small and modular daemon which collects system information periodically and provides means to store the values. Included in the distribution are numerous plug-ins for collecting CPU, disk, and memory usage, network interface and DNS traffic, network latency, database statistics, and much more. Custom statistics can easily be added in a number of ways, including execution of arbitrary programs and plug-ins written in Perl. Advanced features include a powerful network code to collect statistics for entire setups and SNMP integration to query network equipment.

Groonga is a fast and accurate full text search engine based on an inverted index. Newly registered document instantly appears in search results, and updates are allowed without read locks. These characteristics result in superior performance for real-time applications. It is also a column-oriented database management system (DBMS). Compared with well-known row-oriented systems, such as MySQL and PostgreSQL, column-oriented systems are more suited for aggregate queries.
