Off-the-Record (OTR) Messaging is a gaim plugin
which allows you to have private conversations
over the instant messaging system of your choice.
It provides encryption, which prevents someone who
intercepts your instant messages from reading
them; authentication, which ensures that the
correspondent is who you think it is; and perfect
forward secrecy, which ensures that no previous
conversation is compromised if you lose control of
your private keys.

OTPW is a one-time password authentication module
for POSIX systems. Its security concept is
optimized for users who prefer printed paper
password lists over portable electronics. In this
mode of operation, it provides better protection
against some attacks than other schemes (e.g.
S/KEY). It provides a library that can be linked
with any application that performs interactive
logins. A PAM wrapper is included for simple
installation under Linux.

snowdrop is a steganographic text document and C
code watermarking tool that uses redundant,
tamper-evident and modification-proof information
embedded in the content itself, instead of the
medium, to simplify tracking of proprietary code
leaks, sensitive information disclosure, etc.

Advisory Check is a program that reads security advisories for you. It gathers security advisories using RSS, RDF, or XML feeds, compares them against the installed software, and alerts you if you're vulnerable.
A wide variety of package managers can be queried to detect installed software. Remote systems can be monitored by using the integrated SSH, Windows-RPC, and Nmap support.

ClamCour is a multi-threaded Courier filter that allows Clam Antivirus to scan incoming mail for viruses, and rejects it if the check is positive. Attachments can be "quarantined", and custom domain-based email reports can be sent.

ndisc6 consists of three command line tools
(ndisc6, rdisc6, and traceroute6) that perform
ICMPv6 Neighbor Discovery, ICMPv6 Router
Discovery, and IPv6 tcptraceroute/traceroute respectively.
It is primarily meant for IPv6 networking
diagnostics and monitoring.

Fast OnlineUpdate for SuSE (fou4s) is a bash script that provides the functionality of YOU (YaST OnlineUpdate), but can also work in background and check for updates every night. It supports resumed downloads and proxies by using wget. GPG signatures are also checked.

QtFprot is a frontend for FPROT 4.x, a free (for personal use) Linux virus-scanner. It's similar to XFprot, but written in Qt. It allows you to set all FPROT paramters with a comfortable GUI.

openHBCI is a C++ library for the German HomeBanking Computer Interface. It
includes some tutorials for testing the library. Its current capabilities
include complete key management on disc (RDH) and/or chip-card (DDV), the
ability to perform single customer credit transfers, and the ability to get
balance reports.

Pretty Curved Privacy (pcp1) is a commandline utility which can be used to encrypt files. It uses eliptc curve cryptography for encryption (CURVE25519 by Dan J. Bernstein).

The Dazuko project provides a virtual device driver allowing (userland) applications to execute online file access control. It was originally developed by Avira GmbH (formerly known as H+BEDV Datentechnik GmbH) to allow on-access virus scanning. Other uses include a file-access monitor/logger or external security tools. Dazuko operates by intercepting file access calls and passing the file information to a userland application. The application then has the opportunity to tell the virtual device driver to allow or deny the file access. The application also receives information about the file access event, such as accessed file name, type of access, process id, and user id.

Astaro Portscan Detection is a netfilter target which will attempt to detect TCP and UDP port scans and log them to syslog. This target is based upon Solar Designer's scanlogd. It suppports mutliple levels of logging, custom prefixes for entries, weighted total port scan detection, and port scan temporal spread detection.

Snoop is a GNU/Linux file descriptor
monitoring tool inspired by FreeBSD's 'watch'.
It goes beyond simple TTY snooping by
allowing the interception of any file descriptor.
You can attach on the fly to regular files, TTYs,
named pipes, character devices, and pretty
much anything that is represented by a file
descriptor and addressable in the standard
name space.
