KlamAV provides ClamAV protection for the KDE desktop. It
includes 'on access' scanning, manual scanning, quarantine
management, downloading of updates, mail scanning, and
automated installation.

wmii is the next generation of wmi. It is a highly
customizable keyboard-and-mouse-driven X11 window
manager that supports conventional, tabbed, and
tiled window management with low memory usage and
vi-like user interaction. Due to a complete
rewrite, it is highly modularized and uses a new
configuration and inter-process communication
interface, which is oriented on the 9p protocol of
the Plan9 operating system.

X Persistent Remote Applications (xpra) is "screen
for X". It lets you run applications remotely
(like ordinary X or VNC), but unlike ordinary X,
these applications are "persistent" if you lose
your connection, or even if you want to switch to
another computer. Also unlike VNC, they are
ordinary applications on your desktop managed by
your window manager, not trapped in a box.

DiskSearch is a tool for searching for files on all your removable media disks, including CDs, ZIP disks, and backup tapes. It allows you to search for songs on your MP3 CDs or for a document on your backup DVDs. For advanced queries, a regular expression search mode is provided. Searches are based on a simple database file, which needs to be filled once by adding all your disks to it.

gnubiff is a mail notification program that periodically checks for
mail and displays headers when new mail has arrived. It supports
multiple mailboxes, pop3, apop, imap4, mh, qmail and mailfile, SSL and
certificates, GNOME with integration to the panel, GTK standalone,
automatic detection of mailbox format, mail header and content display,
PNG animation, HIG 2.0 compliance, and spam filtering.

PyORBit is a Python binding for the ORBit2 CORBA ORB. It was developped to suit the needs of the bonobo bindings in GNOME-Python, but is usable for other purposes as well. It aims to follow the standard Python language mapping for CORBA. It can generate stubs at runtime from typelibs, IDL files, or by introspecting remote objects using ORBit2's IModule typelib capabilities.

Libgda is a (relatively small) database access library. It provides a wrapper like ODBC but with more features for accessing several database engines, a general data model for use with CSV or XML files, a metadata extractor that retrieves information about database objects in a common way, and a SQL console application (like mysql, psql or sqlite3 consoles).

TuxCards provides a hierarical notebook similar to CueCards under Windows. Every kind of note and idea may be managed and sorted within a tree structure.

SqlGui is a graphical database frontend for KDE. Currently MySQL and PostgreSQL are supported. It lists all databases, tables, columns, column types, and their contents. It can create/delete databases or tables and has a small editor for entering SQL queries.

Luxor is an open-source XML User Interface
Language (XUL) toolkit in Java that lets you build UIs using XML and also includes an ultra light-weight, multi-threaded Web server, a portal engine, and a template engine. It is also Web Start-ready, as everything fits in a jar and requires no loose files.

Endeavour Mark II is a complete file management
suite that comes with a file browser, image
browser, archiver, recycled objects system, and a
set of file and disk management utility programs.

Matrixgl is a 3D screensaver for Linux (partially for KDE) based on "The Matrix Reloaded". It supports widescreen setups.
