Opticks is similar to commercial tools like ERDAS IMAGINE, RemoteView, ENVI, or SOCET GXP. Unlike other competing tools, you can add capability to Opticks by creating extensions. It supports the following file formats: NITF 2.0/2.1, GeoTIFF, ENVI, ASPAM/PAR, CGM, DTED, Generic RAW, ESRI Shapefile, HDF5, AVI, MPEG, JPEG, GIF, PNG, and BMP. It can zoom, pan, or rotate spatially large datasets. It can quickly layer GIS features, annotations, results, and other information over your data to provide context. It has many image display controls such as colormap, histogram, transparency, etc. Support for datasets larger than four gigabytes. Analysts can quickly combine steps using graphical wizards. Support for processing data in its native interleave of BIP, BSQ, or BIL. Extensions can add new processing algorithms, file formats, visualizations of the data, or data types.

UDAV is a cross-platform program for data array visualization based on the MathGL library. It supports a wide spectrum of graphics, simple script language, and visual data handling and editing. It has a windowed interface for data viewing, changing, and plotting. It can execute MGL scripts, set up and rotate graphics, export to bitmap or vector (EPS or SVG) files, draw TeX-like formulas, and so on.

TooN is a very efficient numerics library for C++. The main focus of the library is efficient and safe handling of large numbers of small vector matrices and providing as much compile time checking as is possible. The library also works with large vectors and matrices and integrates easily with existing code. In addition to elementary vector and matrix operations, the library also providers linear solvers, matrix decompositions, optimization, and wrappers around LAPACK.

PyCAM generates toolpaths (GCode) for CNC machines out of 3D STL model files or 2D gravure contour files (SVG or DXF). The output of PyCAM can be imported into EMC2 or other machine controllers to direct the milling machine. PyCAM features different path generation strategies, cutter shapes, and post-processing options.

Visualization Library is C++ middleware for high-performance 2D and 3D graphics applications based on the industry standard OpenGL 1.x-4.x, designed to develop portable applications for the Windows, Linux and Mac OS X operating systems. It supports advanced features like OpenGL Shading Language, Volume Rendering, Isosurface extraction, Frame Buffer Objects, Multiple Render Targets, Vertex and Pixel Buffer Objects, KdTree/AABB frustum culling, a multilingual Unicode-based text engine, advanced texturing, DDS cubemaps, mipmaps, compressed textures, and much more. Visualization Library can be especially useful in 3D/2D scientific visualization, virtual reality, augmented reality, visual simulation, data visualization, presentations, multimedia applications, special effects, and 3D/2D games.

XDrawChem is a program for drawing chemical
structures. Features include fixed length and
fixed angle drawing, a ring tool to automatically
draw rings, automatic alignment of structures in
reactions, 2D structure diagram generation, and 3D
structure conversion. It can access structures in
the PubChem compound database by name, CAS number,
or formula. It can output InChI for structures and
search the database by structure. It can predict
1H NMR, 13C NMR, simple IR spectra, and estimated
pKa. XDrawChem can work with its native file
format, ChemDraw files, and any format supported
by OpenBabel (MDL Molfile, CML, etc.).

GetDP is a general finite element solver using
mixed elements to discretize de Rham-type
complexes in one, two, and three dimensions. The
main feature of GetDP is the closeness between the
input data defining discrete problems (written by
the user in ASCII data files) and the symbolic
mathematical expressions of these problems.

openPLM is a Web-based Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) application. It provides a configuration management system that manages all kind of files and data as documents in a product structure. It supports documents, parts, BOMs, part-document links, electronic signatures for objects, revision management, check in and check out for all files, plain text search using the Xapian engine, navigation between objects using Graphviz, and user management that allows sponsorship, delegation, and rights. Plug-ins are available for Thunderbird, OpenOffice/LibreOffice, FreeCAD, and Gedit.
