Recent BSD (4.4BSD or later based) developer: please write working code specifying --enable-client-utmp . It works well (with --enable-client-utmp) on recent NetBSD (that has putut(x)line() implementation). Other changes: Because it cannot work on gcc with Linux/i386, temporally remove -fstack-check from CDEBUGFLAGS if you specify --enable-debug (and you're using gcc).
