Project Description

Retail Auto Auction provides a complete network-based Point-of-Sale software
solution for an auto auction company. The program currently interfaces with a
MySQL database and it can be installed on any number of machines that act as
clients and connect to the database. In addition to tracking buyers/consignors,
vehicles, and sales, the program includes powerful and extensible reporting
capabilities. For instance, reports on buyer participation, vehicle history,
car lists, etc. are available and can be exported use with a spreadsheet.
Contract printouts are generated for a dot matrix printer suitable for
triplicate form printing. Retail Auto Auction is written in Python and Qt.

A lot number has been added to the Transaction tab for informational purposes. Some error messages have been cleaned up. Extra info has been added to the install.sh script to make it easier for new users.

In this version, transactions are now editable without using the whitesheets. Search functionality has been added to the main transaction screen and new results are calculated when transaction data is changed. Also, a new tab has been added to make car list editing easier. The last visible feature allows you to disable or enable tabs on the interface at runtime. This can help reduce operator error.

This release has lots of new features, including auction attendance tracking for customers, printing which allows for multiple printers, new reports, minimum commissions, and completely reworked backend db code which will allow for support of databases in addition to MySQL.
