Project Description

ChiantiPy is a Python interface to the CHIANTI atomic database for astrophysical spectroscopy. The CHIANTI atomic database for astrophysical spectroscopy provides the information necessary to calculate the emission spectrum from hot plasmas. ChiantiPy provides several top-level classes to access the database and calculate continuum and emission line intensities.

0.4.1

Modifications have been made to remain compatible with the CHIANTI database Version 7.0. The structure of the ChiantiPy distribution has changed so that any version of ChiantiPy prior to 0.4.1 must be removed before installing the current version.

0.4.0

This release adds the class radLoss to calculate radiative losses and plot the results. The method ion.popPlot now plots a histogram of level populations if only a single value of temperature and density are specified. Previously, it expected multiple temperatures or densities. A number of bugfixes have been made.
