Project Description

DrJava is an integrated Java development environment that supports interactive evaluation of expressions. It is under active development by the JavaPLT research group at Rice University, but it is also stable and is currently being used by students, teachers and other developers. A Java 2 v1.3-compliant Java virtual machine is required.

This release adds a "Save All" menu item and printing support (including print preview). The menus/toolbars have been cleaned up. Bug #505470 has been fixed; now it prompts you before overwriting an existing file.

The compile button is now always enabled, and it prompts for saving when
needed. Massive memory leakage in compilation was fixed. Blank lines are no
longer saved to the history of interactive commands. Nicer key bindings were
implemented in the interactive interpreter. Duplicate entries no longer stored
to history. The "no disk in drive" errors on windows were fixed.

Many changes have been made since the last "public" release in August. The license was changed to GPL, support was added for multiple open documents and undo/redo, more configurable compiler support was added, the interactions window runs commands in a separate Java virtual machine, and more.
