Project Description

Damn Small Linux Not is a desktop oriented Linux
distribution based on Damn Small Linux. It uses a
modern 2.6 Kernel and GTK 2 applications, but like
Damn Small Linux, it strives to be compact yet
user friendly. It will run well on systems of
300MHz with 64 MB of RAM or greater.

A new theme and background. gcombust replaces cdw. Samba/LinNeighborhood, Madwifi, and FUSE/sshfs have been added. fluxter has been restored. Hard drive installation has been fixed, and is now on the menu.

This release updates the kernel and modules to 2.6.12, LTmodem to 8.3.1.b1, ndiswrapper to 1.1.14, and unionfs to 1.1.4 5. New 64 cloops for mountable extensions (UCI and UNC). New prism2 support from linux-wlan-ng-0.2.3. New sqlite 3-3.3.6. The MyDSL system has been updated to support UNC type extensions and a separate dsl-n repository. Mozilla Suite has been swapped for Seamonkey 1.0.2. ESP Ghostscript has been added. A PPPoE issue has been fixed. Missing firmware for IPW devices has been added. An ssh/sshd issue has been fixed. A separate dsl-n repository has been set up.

This release added missing triangles in the Fluxbox menu and the missing kbdconfig from dslpanel, fixed missing buttons in emelfm, fixed a bug in mydsl-load with .dsl extensions, included a new boot logo screen, and addressed printing issues and password setup. The distribution now checks that CUPS is started when selecting the Printer Setup button, and prompts to persist printer setup by automatically adding CUPS-related files to the backup control file .filetool.lst upon shutdown. The fluxbox menu was adjusted slightly. .mplayer and .naim were updated in the home directory.
