Project Description

LayoutEditor is an IC/MEMS layout editor. It features all angle elements, a font generator, macros, Boolean operations, drc, netlist-driven layout, LVS, and cross-platform compatibility. Supported formats include Calma GDSII, OASIS (Open Artwork System Interchange Standard), DXF, CIF (Caltech Intermediate Form), Gerber, DEF/LEF, and many others.

This release added full support for OpenAccess and iPDK, including reading/writing of layout, schematics, symbols and netlists, and support for iCDF and Tcl callbacks. A stacked paint engine for a sorted layer display was added to the existing transparent and unsorted paint engine. It come with a more versatile 3D layer setup. An integrated editor was provided for C++, Python and Tcl macros and scripting. Background images were enhanced. There were also some smaller improvements and fixes for some platform-specific problems.

This release includes OpenAccess support, removal of non-orthogonal/scaled references, removal of Cell Arrays and Strip Empty Cells, import of the Electromask file format, an integrated text editor, fixes for problems with DXF files on Windows, many smaller improvements, and fixes for some platform specific problems.
