Project Description

Masqmail is an MTA (mail transport agent) for notebooks, workstations, home servers, and generally any host with no permanent network connection. It has special support for multiple transfer routes (e.g. to different mail providers). Address rewriting can be done in several ways. It is a slim replacement for full-blown MTAs such as sendmail, exim, qmail, or postfix and for the intended uses, configuration is much simpler.

0.3.0

Start of the new development branch. Backward compatibility with 0.2.x versions will not be maintained. Upgrading from 0.2.x to 0.3.x will probably require manual adjustment of the configuration. The script admin/config-transition can be used to check the config files for obsolete options. POP3 and maildir support have been removed. The configuration has been simplified; 'host_name' is the only mandatory config option now. Improved documentation: setup guides have been added and the examples updated.

Due to possible license problems with
contributed code, it has been replaced with alternatives. The MD5 implementation has changed from the reference implementation of RFC 1321 to the public domain implementation of Solar Designer. The HMAC-MD5 implementation has changed from the reference implementation of RFC 2104 to a custom implementation (ISC License).

0.2.25

This version simplifies general concepts: Bcc headers are now always removed, headers are never created from envelope recipients, and a ``To: undisclosed-recipients:;'' header is added if no recipient headers are present in the mail. Server-side SMTP SIZE support was added and several bugs were fixed.
Additionally, the documentation and build documents were improved.
