Mule - Universal Message Objects

This version included a new security infrastucture for endpoint authentication and service authorization, new transports such as JDBC, SSL, HTTPS, and XMPP (Jabber), improved transaction management, new routing capabilities for managing concurrent event flows in request/response scenarios, Plexus container support, and a load of new enhancements and bugfixes.

This release introduces Axis integration, J2SE 5.0 jmx support, Jmx remoting and statistics MBeans, tighter integration with external IoC containers such as Spring or Pico, improved Spring Events integration, internal Server events, cleaner endpoint configuration, generic and transport-specific endpoint filtering, and many bugfixes.

New features include Webservices support for
Apache Axis and WebMethods Glue; message groups
and new routers to handle spliting, joining,
resequencing, and aggregating; scriptable
components support (Groovy); improved JMX
management and statistics, including reporting;
new sample applications; and lots of new
documentation and tests.

Some powerful new features were added. Configuration was greatly simplified with the introduction of Uri endpoints. The Jms features were improved with Jms 1.1 support, client acknowledge transactions, and JNDI destinations. The Mule client API can now make remote requests and register beans as Mule managed objects directly. Tcp, Udp, and Multicast providers were added along with persistent VM (in-memory) queues, Jmx Statisics, and many bugfixes and enhancements.

New features include spring events integration, a new Servlet provider providing REST style access to Mule services, a powerful mule client, improved routing support, groovy transformer support, improved threading control, and much more. A lot of bugfixes and improvements were made.
