Project Description

SADMS (Samba as Active Directory Member
Server/Station) makes it easy to add a Linux host
to an Active Directory Domain. As a domain member, the Linux host can then offer resources (shares) to the domain hosts and offload authentication to the domain (making it unnecessary to have local user accounts). SADMS takes care of changing configuration files to achieve this.

The SADMS suite has undergone a complete overhaul. The user interface
has been retargeted to GTK. New modules have been added for user
and home management, for setting up shares, and for handling global
settings. The modules for Posix ACLs management and for remote operation
have been rewritten. SADMS now integrates with the name service caching
daemon. Testing and diagnostics have been improved. A visual tutorial
is now included. SADMS has been ported to Debian and Ubuntu (and still
supports Fedora and Mandriva).
