Project Description

FileManager is a secure (SSL), multi-user, and Web-
based program for file, directory, and remote
command management. It is written in Perl, for
Linux and Unix-like operating systems. It displays
full directory information; allows file viewing,
deleting, renaming, uploading, downloading, etc.;
assists in directory navigation; and can execute
any command for which the user account has
privilege. FileManager also comes with a built-in
text editor for quick editing and file updates.

New features include the display of uptime and memory usage for the root user, non-standard CGI support for file uploads, the ability to change the icon file types via the admin settings, elimination of reliance on CGI.pm, replacement of client-side with server-side cookies, and linked files/directories now display the target file/directory as well. Logout/upload errors affecting some browsers have been fixed, non-standard usernames and passwd file locations are now handled better, the menu button bar is now shown in the Editor header, and "unaccessible file" server exceptions are now trapped and reported.

Added the ability to customize the pop-up context menus. Added the ability to view all valid system login accounts, not just those with a UID >= 500. Added a Perl module pre-check, and auto-install capability in setup.sh. Updated the mini-server and session_login scripts to be more error tolerant. Fixed a bug that caused the login script to hang on some systems when using SSL. Security updates and various other bugfixes included.
