Project Description

Window Switch is a tool that allows you to move applications between networked computers. The windows appear where you need them, as they were. You no longer need to save and send documents to move them around; simply move the view of the application to the machine where you need it.

0.12.6

This minor bugfix release added support for ssh-agent and fixed some keyboard layout bugs affecting Mac OS X and MS Windows. Support for graphical server signatures was added (using Vash). Xdummy is now fully supported with Xpra. On fast connections, Xpra compression is turned off and GStreamer video buffering is reduced.

0.12.5

A startup crash on MS Windows (in which it failed to start without warning) was fixed. Mac OS X Lion support was added. A VP8 video compression option was added for GStreamer screencasting. TigerVNC was upgraded to 1.1 (on Windows and Mac OS X). Growl notifications were added. Support for loading and resizing icons (including SVG) on headless servers was improved. Xpra keys should no longer get stuck (xpra 0.0.7.25) and keymap support was improved. Missing protocols may now be installed more easily (on Linux for now). Memory and file descriptor leaks in buggy versions of Python are now worked around.

0.12.4

This release included bugfixes and optimizations. Most notably, packaging problems on MS Windows and Ubuntu that caused silent failures were fixed. This version is more efficient, less bandwidth hungry, and tries harder to use sane defaults. Keyboard mapping fixes were included for Xpra.

0.12.3

Leaks have been found and plugged and bugs hunted down (in VNC desktop sessions, NX keyboard support for Linux clients, and more). This is a much more stable release. Support for the Mac OS X dock, Windows system tray, Ubuntu's AppIndicator, and the GNOME system tray was improved. The default applet colour is now more visible, and can be changed in the options.

0.12.2

FreeBSD and KDE bugfixes, CentOS and openSUSE packaging fixes, support for Ubuntu's unity, gnome3-shell, etc. Many new protocol options have been added: xpra adaptive JPEG, GStreamer screencasting scaling and compression options, etc. There were also an unusually large amount of small bugfixes and UI refinements; hopefully, this is a sign that things are settling down.
