Dear Seiji, UTF-8m WORKS!! I'm terribly sorry for my careless test. I forgot to set file-name- coding-system to utf-8m. Now setting it properly, it works perfectly well for Korean file names in the dired mode. My apologies again, and many thanks for your elaboration on utf-8m. Amazing that just a single file of yours can replace the whole library Mule-UCS of even several magabytes!! Best regards, mahn-soo
