in the older carbon emacs (e.g. the build in early this year), there's CJK fonts. For example: hiraginokaku,hiraginomin... etc. Screenshot: http://xahlee.org/emacs/i/emacs_menu.png but since about perhaps May, the carbon emacs build i download no longer have these fonts.
