My original reason for putting news into separate items under tags/htdocs/news/ was so that the archive didn't become a really really long page (but since we only have 1 or 2 new items a month it's not a huge problem). What do you plan to do when news2.html.en becomes too long? I suppose we could split it into two or more pages when it gets too long, but that's harder to do when not using a CMS or database.
