Project Description

Impro-Visor is a music notation and playback tool for helping jazz musicians learn to improvise. It features a notation GUI, automated playback of chords and rhythm using MIDI, and improvisation advice provided in a variety of ways, including being able to improvise jazz itself. Data are stored as open-format text files. MIDI and MusicXML export are also available.

Edited styles are now saved back to the user's directory. When a drum pattern is edited for a given percussion instrument, any previous component of the pattern for that instrument is removed.

A volume control and tempo slider were added to the roadmap view, and the roadmap interface was improved. Roadmaps provide a view of the harmony of a piece in terms of chords and "bricks". Impro-Visor analyzes leadsheet notation to produce them.
