2.8.4

This release of Phex sets the focus on the user interface and the search tab. Aside from several bugfixes, it offers a completely rewritten search-filter with quick-filters and configurable user-defined rules. It ships with two predefined filters: an adult-filter and a filter against scam-files, blocking formats which are commonly used by scammers. The search tab also features a new way of showing searches in a search bar, which can be toggled in the view-menu. Phex now supports the "What's New" search, which finds files which recently entered the network.

2.8.2

This version delivers some bugfixes and an updated
German localization. The segment-selection for
downloads now takes streameable files into account
by preferencing the first part more strongly for
these kinds of files. A lot more background work
was done, whose effects will still take a few
versions to show up.

2.8

This release features a completely rewritten download engine. It is
faster and more stable, allows easy file previews, and gives a in-depth
view of what is going on behind the scenes. A new multi-part progress
bar shows what parts of the file are already downloaded and what the
sources share. The user can choose to download the least available file
parts first, and prioritize the file beginning, end, or both. Phex
now comes with UDP host cache support. UDP host caches are used as a
distributed bootstrapping system to connect to the network faster.
Future releases can now be downloaded within Phex.
