Project Description

PLATYPUX is a Linux distribution which uses methods from LFS and BLFS (Linux From Scratch). You can set up the system on a PC, a laptop, or a USB key. Its graphical interface is implemented with XFCE. It's easily transportable. Tools like LibreOffice, Gimp, Xsane, SRWare Iron, Inkscape, OpenShot, Xfburn, Peazip, and JavaMPlayer are already installed.

XZM compression is used for AUFS. XFCE instead of Openbox. A lot of tools are available by default: LibreOffice, Openshot, Geany, Ghostcript, Gutenprint, GIMP, Xsane, Java MPlayer, Epdfview, IcedTea, Iron SRWARE (with Flash and IcedTea Web plugins), Peazip, XFE, Inkscape, Pidgin, SpiceBird, Wicd, and Xfburn. Support for NVIDIA proprietary drivers (can be activated thanks to nvidia-xconfig). Many applets have been installed (sound, keyboard, batteries, etc.). You can change the language of Platypux thanks to lxdm (in the bottom of the login session).
