Rosegarden is an audio and MIDI sequencer, score editor, and general-purpose music composition and editing environment. It is an easy-to-learn, attractive application that runs on Linux. It is ideal for composers, musicians, music students, and small studio or home recording environments.

This is a bugfix release, introducing no new application features. Several crashes and other serious bugs found in the 1.2.3 release have been fixed. This release also includes several new MIDI device definition (.rgd) files, as well as updates for Catalan, Russian, Swedish, Czech, and Italian translations, and a completely new Finnish translation.

This release is primarily focused on bugfixes and performance and usability improvements over 0.9.7, including significant optimisations to the main editing canvas, sequencer and GUI memory leak fixes, faster and better notation editing and printing, and dozens of other fixes. It also contains a handful of new features including a MIDI mixer window, ottava and fingering marks in notation, and a redesigned audio segment manager.
