tovid

This is primarily a maintenance release, with a few bonus features. Many bugs and inconsistencies have been ironed out; the 'todisc' script (now in its second release) is much more polished and stable, and a new prototype todisc GUI is included. libtovid now includes a basic animated graphic rendering system that could become the foundation for future work.

A new 'todisc' script that can generate a ready-to-burn DVD or SVCD with animated-thumbnail preview menus, given a list of files and titles was added. This release also added flexible dependency handling, simpler 'tovid' audio encoding, 'makedvd' improvements, and more.

This is mostly a maintenance release, and testbed for the Python-based libtovid modules. A new encoding technique -bdvd allows potentially better compression than -kdvd; pytovid is partially functional, using an mencoder-based backend to do faster encoding than the standard tovid script.

New -keepfiles, -quiet, -fake, and other options were added. Multithreading was re-enabled for faster encoding. Bugfixes and enhancements were made in makedvd, idvid, and makexml. There were also interface cleanups and documentation updates, and a brand new, partly working pytovid.

The tovid GUI is once again included with the main
tovid package. The GUI now has the experimental
capability to save and load. There should be fewer
problems with variable framerate (1000fps) input
videos.
