Project Description

TortoiseSVN is a Subversion (SVN) client, implemented as a windows shell extension. Which means it's available right where you need it: in the Windows file explorer.

It's intuitive and easy to use, since it doesn't require the Subversion command line client to run. Simply the coolest Interface to (Sub)Version Control!

We have been using SVN and TortoiseSVN for more than 6 years for a group of computer less-literate users (MS office level users) as a document management system. SVN is much more natural for this application than GIT and TortoiseSVN makes it applicable for laymen. After users are explained the need to use SVNrename and SVNdelete (several times) TortoiseSVN is an efficient and natural solution. I am very grateful to Stefan Koenig for writing and supporting TortoiseSVN.
Pros
user interface
Cons
(Windows problem) file icon overlays are very volatile
