Project Description

BallroomDJ is a ballroom music player. It is designed to let the computer choose the music and to be able to play music the entire evening without intervention. It features flexible playlists, music queue management, requests, seeking in songs, speed with pitch control, and an optional audio file organizer. Playlists can have automatic selections based on your choice of dances and how often those dances should play, stops after some number of songs has been played, stops at a particular time, allowing of songs with certain keywords, sequences, and manual selection. Mix all of these in any order and modify them at any time.

This release fixes many issues when there are spaces in path and file names. New audio files are now automatically detected, and the 'Add New Files' option has been removed from the update database dialog. Support for Windows XP has been tested, and some minor bugs for XP have been fixed. Editing audio files from the music manager and player has been fixed. The invert checkbox has been fixed. Manual playlists will properly skip audio files that have been deleted. The retry count to connect to VLC has been increased, as VLC startup can be quite slow after a reboot.

This release adds the ability to create manual playlists so that songs can be played in an exact order. Announcements can now be displayed on the marquee.
The update database function can now read the dance if it is stored in the genre tag of the audio file.

The options screen has been split into two separate screens for easier use. Marquee colors are fully editable. The clock is displayed using the system locale. The reset button on the BPM Counter has been fixed. Configuration windows are positioned better. The test for displaying the request button was reversed. A serious problem when returning to the music manager from the editor has been fixed.

The path format for the audio files is now fully configurable for use with the music editor. Bugfixes include: volume control behavior, 'save album', album selection in the music manager, playlist handling after removal of a dance, new song handling in the music manager.
