Project Description

GYach Enhanced is a feature-rich, improved version
of the original Gyach. It is the first Yahoo!
client for Linux with voice chat capabilities. It
offers almost all of the features you would expect
to find in the official Windows Yahoo! client. The
program offers support for chat, conferences,
buddy lists, and My Yahoo content. In addition,
Gyach Enhanced offers many features not available
in the official Yahoo! clients for Windows, Mac,
and Linux. Webcam support is under development and
planned for the future. Unlike the original Gyach,
GYach Enhanced is designed for Linux only.

A major bug that could cause repeated disconnections has been fixed, and handling of the Yahoo mobile messenger buddy group has been improved. Webcam broadcasting support has been extended to include several additional camera devices. The spam control module has been updated, and the login window's interface has been improved. Several minor updates to IMVironment support and other features have been made.

and XMMS plugin messages. Several bugs related to
large buddy lists, cookies, faders, and Yahoo
address books have been fixed. Handling of Yahoo
news alerts has improved, and a news alerts status
message has been added. Error notification,
performance, and font rendering have been
improved. A list of Yahoo links has been added to
the Help menu, and new content is available on the
My Yahoo tab.

This release adds YCHT (Java chat) support, a login fix for
the YMSG protocol, and numerous other bugfixes. An
experimental photo IMVironment plugin has been added, the
internal profile viewer has been rewritten, and several
security flaws have been fixed. Major improvements have
been made to the configuration window and the font support.
The program now supports international profiles, disabling
PM buzzes, and checking for new versions and project news.

including "display images" in PM windows, avatars, audibles,
and stealth settings. A new French translation, SMS support,
and complete Address Book support have been added. PM
windows are more customizable and offer a scrollable typing
area. Problems broadcasting Webcam images to Windows
users have been fixed. The buddy list has been greatly
improved, new My Yahoo! content has been added, and
numerous bugs have been fixed.

This release added a new XMMS status plugin and support for buddy groups, profile names, and Yahoo! news alerts. Major improvements were made to spam control, instant messaging, boot prevention, fader support, encryption, and accessibility. Voice chat, webcam, and sound events support were improved, and font support is now more flexible. A new profile viewer and a 'quick access' toolbar are available. The program starts faster and uses less memory, and many bugs and memory leaks were fixed.
