Project Description

Photo Collection is a Web-based picture organizer. Pictures are indexed in a relational database (currently MySQL), and can be organized in hierachical categories. Each picture has a thumbnail and can have a name. It is written in PHP on the Web side, and there is a Perl client for database administration.

A correction of the SQL definition was made. Upgrading is not necessary for working installations.

A huge speed increase by switching from storing pictures in the database to storing them in regualar files, a new upgrade utility for database structure, navigation on the thumbnails page if there are more than max_images in a single category, a fix for navigation between pictures in the picture page, and the console client now checks that inserted pictures are actually pictures (readable by ImageMagick).
