File Content Recoverer (XFCR) is Linux-based tool
that recovers the content of your recently deleted
files or documents from memory through the
/proc/kcore virtual file. It has a graphical
interface built on GTK and targeted at desktop
users as well as administrators.

dvbackup encapsulates arbitrary files into a raw DV data stream suitable for writing on a DV tape. It uses all of the audio data and the space reserved for the AC coefficients of the video data. You also need dvconnect from the libdv project to transmit the data over firewire. The latest version of dvconnect is always included.

compressible is a command line utility to test whether compressing a given file with bzip2 is likely to result in space savings greater than a given threshold.
It does bzip2 compression on samples taken from several locations in the file.

scst_qla_isp is an SCST target driver for QLogic
HBAs with the ISP chipset (22xx, 23xx, and 24xx
HBAs). SCST is a mid-level SCSI target subsystem
for Linux, which allows a remote host to access
local storage devices through the SCSI protocol.

Flatback is a flat filesystem archiver. It supports checksumming, large files, hardlinks, and device files.

MTK-MySQLBackup is a sophisticated, extensible MySQL backup application.

Deduplicator is a simple and efficient data deduplicator that works by hard linking files that have the same content. It is ideal for reducing the size of backups. It can save and restore intermediate results, so you can run it in a few short intervals, and allows you to review changes before they are committed to disk.

Taper is a tape backup and restore program that provides a friendly user interface to allow backing/restoring files to a tape drive. Alternatively, files can be backed up to hard disk files. Selecting files for backup and restore is very similar to the Midnight Commander interface and allows easy traversal of directories. Recursively selected directories are supported. Incremental backup and automatic most recent restore are defaults settings. SCSI, ftape, zftape, and removable drives are supported.

PHP Admin Tools (PAT) is a Web application that allows you to manage
files (with basic and advanced functions like compression in gz), FTP,
and databases all in one. It's designed to reproduce a Graphical User
Interface (GUI) with drop-down and context menus for easy use.

Scylla Charybdis lets you get a data odyssey done with the help of two small monsters. It's easy to use, utilizes SSL (encryption), LIBZ (compression), and simple password protection. A builtin timeout detects link breaks (for dialups) such that an uploads can be automatically continued from where it broke (within a file). MD5 sums detect if files are successfully transferred. In case of data changes the destination is renamed and not overwritten (backup history). Data throttling can prevent the transfer from using up full link speed, such that a background upload does not disturb your SSH sessions (like SCP does).

DupISO is a frontend for cdrecord, living in a
terminal environment. It supports burning using
multiple recorders at the same time, and is a
simpe and reliable way of burning numerous CDs.

Phrealon is a bootable Linux CD based on Slackware Linux 8.0, designed to allow the easy imaging of multiple workstations. It utilizes the updcast set of Linux tools to accomplish this. It provides an interface that allows users to select options from menus and autodetects most of the supported NICs.
