buddhaIq is a Java instant messaging client library. It can run as a standalone app in console mode, send and receive type 1 text messages, detect status changes of a contact, and retrieve your buddylist from an ICQ server.

licqweb is a Web frontend for licq. It interfaces
with the Remote Management Service plugin and uses
AJAX to provide real-time communication. It is
useful for people who use IMs from multiple
locations and want a 'centralised' application
that means no more logging off and on,
consolidates chat history to the one location, and
prevents problems where messages are missed
because another IM client received them.

IM-Filter is a daemon that runs on a firewall and
filters ICQ traffic. The daemon can identify file
transfers, handle UIN and word blacklists, manage
a list with currently logged in users, and log
messages sent via the ICQ protocol. The modular
design allows implementation of other protocols
like MSN or IRC.

Net::ICQ allows you to embed ICQ instant messaging client functionality into your Perl programs. It is written entirely in Perl and depends only on other Perl modules. Net::ICQ uses an event-driven model to allow the programmer to handle incoming events, inspired by Net::IRC.

The Off-the-Record (OTR) Messaging proxy is a multi-
platform proxy that allows you to have private conversations
using the AIM client of your choice. It provides encryption,
which prevents someone who intercepts your instant
messages from reading them, authentication, which ensures
that the correspondent is who you think it is, and perfect
forward secrecy, which ensures that no previous
conversation is compromised if you lose control of your
private keys.

scm2wav extracts sound files from an ICQ sound
scheme file. This might be useful if you want to
use the sound files with an alternative ICQ or
other IM client than the Mirablilis program, which
is only available for Windows and MacOS.

pidgin-osd is an application that uses the xosd
library to print various events on the X root
window on receiving incoming messages from pidgin.
It is based on gaimnosd 0.7 (the last publically
available version). It is mostly like the gaimnosd
plugin; the only difference is that an
implementation for UTF-8 conversion to the current
used locale was added.

E-GnomeICU is an enlightenment epplet for controlling gnomeicu.

JabberTools is a set of console and Web-based Perl tools depending on Net::Jabber that makes it easier to use Jabber and convert to using Jabber from other instant messaging systems (e.g., AOL and ICQ). The tools include a Jabber account manager and an importer that converts your previous contact lists/rosters/buddy lists into your Jabber roster.

libicq2000 is an opensource C++ library being
developed to support the icq2000/2001 protocol. It
is easy for developers to use as the backbone for
their clients' connection to the ICQ network--all
the protocol work is abstracted away in one nice
object-oriented interface.

Bicq is an attempt to bring connection to ICQ
services to the popular BitchX IRC client. It
uses BitchX's built-in plugin system to allow
users to connect to and chat on the ICQ system as
well as the IRC networks. It runs entirely inside
the BitchX application, and uses that
application's standard interface with its
provided commands.
